Head of Education Dr. Erwan: CSC activities provide enthusiasm for students to learn, and there are no longer any favorite schools

Ciamis– The Ciamis Regency Education Office held the Ciamis Smart Challenge (CSC) – The Ultimate Junior High School Challenge. The competition took place at the Islamic Center Building on Monday (September 8, 2025).The event was attended by the Regent of Ciamis, the Head of the West Java KCD XIII, members of the Ciamis Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), and representatives from the University of Galuh (Ungal).

The Head of the Ciamis Regency Education Office, Dr. Erwan Darmawan, said, “I deeply appreciate all parties involved, especially the English Subject Teachers’ Conference (MGMP), which initiated this activity. This is a new activity in Ciamis Regency.Through this event, we want to foster students’ enthusiasm for learning and prove that there are no longer favorite schools. All schools are equal, and everyone has the opportunity to excel,” he said. According to Erwan, the CSC competition not only hones English skills but also strengthens local cultural identity. We want to produce a young generation with broad perspectives, international connections, and a love for Galuh culture.
Therefore, we also incorporated local cultural content into the competition questions,” he said.

Erwan explained that 105 public and private junior high schools across Ciamis Regency participated in the competition selection process, with the selection of the 18 best teams to advance to the final round. The competition questions were developed by the MGMP team, which involved junior high school supervisors active in the English language field.

“The purpose of the CSC activity is to provide teachers with an understanding that the MGMP must be a forum for discussion to develop a joint syllabus that is relevant to the needs of the times,” he concluded. No ratings yet.
